Combine the peeled, chopped tomatoes, green peppers, and onions in a large heavy-bottomed pot.

Stir in the salt, cinnamon, and cloves, mixing well to distribute the spices evenly throughout the vegetable mixture.

Pour in the vinegar and stir to combine all ingredients thoroughly.

Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer the chili sauce uncovered for 45 to 50 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables have broken down and the sauce has thickened.
