1
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cook the diced bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes, then transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
2
Add the ground beef to the same skillet with bacon drippings and cook over medium-high heat, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
3
Stir in the chopped onions and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
3 minutes
4
Transfer the ground beef and onion mixture to a large baking dish. Add the two cans of pork and beans (with their liquid), rinsed butter beans, and rinsed kidney beans.
5
In a small bowl, whisk together the packed brown sugar, sugar, ketchup, barbecue sauce, molasses, mustard, and salt until well combined.
6
Pour the sauce mixture into the baking dish with the beans and stir thoroughly to combine all ingredients evenly.
7
Crumble the reserved cooked bacon and stir it into the bean mixture.

8
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes until the beans are heated through and flavors are melded.

Remove foil and stir the baked beans, adjusting seasoning with additional salt if needed. Serve hot directly from the baking dish or transfer to a serving bowl.
