Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan, then add the brown rice and reduce heat to low. Simmer covered for about 25-30 minutes until the rice is partially cooked but still slightly firm.

Add 6 cups of water to a large pot and bring to a boil over high heat.

Stir well to combine and prevent clumping.

Stir to combine all ingredients evenly.

Simmer uncovered for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the grains are tender and the mixture reaches a porridge-like consistency.

Adjust the consistency by adding more water if the mixture is too thick, or simmer longer if it is too thin. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
