Fill a cocktail shaker with ice to chill the vessel while gathering all ingredients and tools.

Pour the light rum (1½ oz), brandy (¾ oz), grenadine (1 tsp), melon liqueur (1 tsp), and lemon juice (¼ tsp) into the cocktail shaker.

Fill the shaker with fresh ice, then secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds until the exterior becomes frosty.

Strain the mixture into a chilled coupe glass or cocktail glass using a Hawthorne strainer or bar spoon to catch the ice.
