Method

Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice cubes to chill the mixing vessel and prepare for combining ingredients.

Measure out 1 oz of light rum, ¼ oz of lime juice, ½ oz of triple sec, and ½ oz of cherry brandy into separate small glasses or measuring vessels for accurate pouring.

Pour the measured light rum, lime juice, triple sec, and cherry brandy into the ice-filled shaker in that order.

Close the shaker securely and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds until the outside of the shaker becomes frosted and the ingredients are thoroughly chilled and combined.

Strain the mixture into chilled coupe glasses or cocktail glasses, dividing evenly among four servings.

Serve immediately while cold, optionally garnishing with a lime wheel or cherry if desired.
