Method

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Combine molasses, sugar, butter, and milk in a mixing bowl and stir until well blended.

In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger.

Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until a stiff dough forms, being careful not to overmix.

Roll the dough into small balls about 1 inch in diameter and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake for 12 minutes until the cookies are set but still slightly soft in the center.
