Dice the green pepper and onion into small, uniform pieces and set aside.

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the sausage, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks until browned and no longer pink.

Drain any excess fat from the skillet, leaving a small amount to sauté the vegetables.

Add the diced green pepper and onion to the skillet with the sausage and cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are softened.

Pour in the vegetable broth and stir well to combine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
