Mantala od Grozdja
This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Gonzales Estate in Crandall, Texas in 1980.

Ingredients
- black grapes (enough for 1 gallon juice)1 unit

Extract juice from the black grapes by pressing or processing them through a fine sieve, collecting approximately 1 gallon of juice.

Combine 2 cups sugar and ½ cup lemon juice in a large saucepan and bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally until sugar dissolves.

Pour the grape juice into the saucepan with the sugar mixture and stir well to combine.

In a separate bowl, whisk together 1½ cups whole wheat flour and ½ tsp nutmeg.

Slowly sprinkle the flour mixture into the simmering grape juice while stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming.

Reduce heat to medium-low and continue simmering, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens to a pudding-like consistency.

Pour the finished mantala into serving bowls or a shallow dish and allow to cool slightly before serving.
