Melodee's Hot Wings
It is not sloppy wet like so many others out there. However, this recipe can be served wet too.

- chicken legs or chicken wings (tips removed)5 lbs
- (6 ounce) bottles Bruce's hot sauce (or your favorite brand)2 unit
- unsalted butter½ cupmelted
- Italian salad dressing⅓ cupnot creamy

Method

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two large baking sheets with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.

Pat the chicken legs and wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture, which helps them cook more evenly and develop better browning.

Arrange the chicken pieces skin-side up on the prepared baking sheets in a single layer, spacing them evenly.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter, both 6-ounce bottles of Bruce's hot sauce, Italian salad dressing, lemon juice, and dried basil until well combined.

Brush half of the hot sauce mixture generously over the chicken pieces, coating all visible surfaces.

Bake the chicken for 20 minutes, then remove from the oven and brush with the remaining hot sauce mixture.

Return to the oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F at the thickest part) and the sauce is bubbly and slightly caramelized.
