Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper cups or grease 12 muffin cups.

Whisk together flour, wheat germ, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and grated orange peel in a large bowl until evenly combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together cooled melted butter, honey, orange juice, and eggs until fully incorporated and smooth.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and fold together gently with a spatula until just combined; do not overmix. Some lumps in the batter are acceptable.

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups, filling each about three-quarters full.

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs.

Remove from oven and allow muffins to cool in the tin for 5 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
