Ingredients

  • 1 small
  • butter as required
    1 unit
  • Optional spices cinnamon
    nutmeg and cloves
    1 unit
  • dried fruits such as raisins
    chopped apricots, dates or figs ~ as required
    1 unit
  • honey as required
    1 unit

Method

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Wash the pumpkin and cut it in half lengthwise, then scoop out seeds and stringy pulp with a spoon.

Place the pumpkin halves cut-side up on a baking sheet. Brush the cut surfaces and inner cavities generously with melted butter.

In a small bowl, combine the dried fruits (raisins, chopped apricots, dates, or figs) with cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves if using.

Fill the pumpkin cavities with the spiced dried fruit mixture, distributing evenly between the two halves.

Drizzle honey over the filling and inside the pumpkin cavities, reserving some honey for the top.

Bake for 40–45 minutes until the pumpkin flesh is fork-tender and lightly browned at the edges.

Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. If desired, drizzle additional honey over the top before serving warm or at room temperature.
