Wash the cucumbers thoroughly under cold running water, scrubbing the skin to remove any dirt or residue.

Peel the cucumbers if desired, then slice them thinly into rounds or chop them into small bite-sized pieces according to preference.

Place the sliced or chopped cucumbers into a colander, sprinkle lightly with salt, and allow them to drain for several minutes to draw out excess moisture.
