Cut the watermelon into uniform 1 to 1.5 inch cubes, removing any seeds and rind. Aim for consistent sizing so the pieces sit evenly on the skewers.

Thread 3 to 4 watermelon cubes onto each soaked bamboo skewer, leaving a comfortable handle length at the bottom. Arrange completed skewers on a serving platter.

Combine the grapefruit juice and orange juice in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add sugar and stir continuously until the sugar is fully dissolved, about 3 to 4 minutes.
