Method

1
Prepare or obtain a yeast-leavened flatbread base by either using a store-bought pizza dough or making one from scratch; roll or stretch the dough into a round or oval shape approximately 10-12 inches in diameter on a lightly floured surface.
15 minutes
2
If using raw dough, allow it to rest and rise on a parchment-lined baking sheet in a warm location until slightly puffed. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) during this time.
30 minutes
3
Par-bake the flatbread base in the preheated oven until it is just set and lightly golden on the edges but still soft in the center. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool slightly.
8 minutes
4
Spread a generous, even layer of peanut butter across the surface of the warm flatbread, leaving a small border around the edges as a crust. Use creamy or chunky peanut butter according to preference.
2 minutes
5
Peel the banana and slice it into thin, uniform rounds approximately one-quarter inch thick, or mash it lightly with a fork for a smoother topping texture.
3 minutes
6
Arrange the banana slices evenly over the peanut butter layer, covering the surface in a single overlapping layer, or spread the mashed banana over the peanut butter in an even coat.
2 minutes
7
Return the topped flatbread to the oven and bake briefly until the banana is warmed through and the edges of the crust are golden brown and crisp.
5 minutes
8
Remove the pizza from the oven, allow it to cool for a couple of minutes, then slice into wedges or strips and serve warm as a snack or light meal.
