Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and arrange the oven rack in the middle position.

Place the 4 slices of bread on a baking sheet in a single layer.

Spread 1 tbsp of soft butter or margarine evenly across the top of each bread slice.

In a small bowl, combine the 2 tbsp of brown sugar and 2 tbsp of flaked coconut, mixing well to distribute evenly.

Sprinkle the brown sugar and coconut mixture equally over each buttered bread slice, pressing gently so it adheres to the butter.

Bake in the preheated oven for 4-5 minutes until the coconut is lightly toasted and the sugar begins to caramelize.
