Gather all ingredients: paprika, cayenne pepper, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, dried basil, dried thyme, black pepper, and Old Bay seasoning. Measure each spice according to your desired batch size, typically 2 tablespoons of paprika and 1 tablespoon of each remaining spice.

Add all measured spices into a small mixing bowl. Stir thoroughly with a whisk or fork until all ingredients are evenly combined and no clumps remain.

Taste a small pinch of the blended mixture and adjust seasoning to your preference, adding more cayenne for extra heat or more paprika for a milder, smokier flavor.

If any spices appear clumped or uneven, sift the blended mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a clean bowl to achieve a uniform texture.
