Finely dice the onion into small, uniform pieces to ensure even cooking and consistent flavor throughout the dish.

Heat vegetable oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat, then add the diced onion and sauté until softened and translucent.

Add the rice to the saucepan with the softened onion and stir to coat the grains evenly in the oil, toasting lightly for added depth of flavor.

Pour the milk into the saucepan over the rice and onion mixture, stirring gently to combine all ingredients.
