Method

1
Prepare a campfire and allow the wood or charcoal to burn down to glowing coals, which provide steady, even heat ideal for cooking.
20 minutes
2
Place an unpeeled banana on a flat surface and use a sharp knife to cut a lengthwise slit through the top peel and partway into the banana flesh, being careful not to cut all the way through.
1 minutes
3
Gently spread the slit open to create a pocket and fill it generously with your desired toppings such as chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, peanut butter chips, or a combination.
2 minutes
4
Wrap the filled banana tightly in a sheet of aluminum foil, sealing the edges well to contain heat and prevent toppings from spilling out.
1 minutes
5
Place the foil-wrapped banana directly onto the campfire coals or on a grill grate over the fire, positioning it so the slit side faces upward.
6
Cook the banana over the coals for approximately 8 to 10 minutes, until the peel turns dark and the banana flesh becomes soft and the fillings have melted.
10 minutes
7
Using tongs or heat-resistant gloves, carefully remove the foil-wrapped banana from the fire and allow it to rest for 1 to 2 minutes before unwrapping.
2 minutes
8
Carefully unwrap the foil, open the banana peel to expose the melted toppings, and serve immediately directly in the peel with a spoon.
