Combine the light karo syrup, sugar, and peanut butter in a large saucepan over medium heat, stirring frequently until the mixture is smooth and the sugar has dissolved completely.

Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool for 1-2 minutes until it reaches a safe handling temperature.

Add the 3 cups of Special K cereal to the peanut butter mixture and stir vigorously until all cereal pieces are evenly coated.

Press the mixture firmly and evenly into a greased 9x13-inch baking pan using a spatula or the back of a spoon.

Allow the bars to cool completely at room temperature for at least 10-15 minutes until they are set and firm enough to cut.

Cut the cooled mixture into bars of desired size using a sharp knife, wiping the blade between cuts for clean edges if needed.

Serve at room temperature or store in an airtight container for up to one week.
