Combine equal parts sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring gently until the sugar fully dissolves. Remove from heat and allow the simple syrup to cool completely to room temperature.

Transfer the cooled simple syrup to a sealed container and refrigerate until thoroughly chilled. This chilled syrup will serve as the foundational sweet base for the cocktail.

Prepare fresh or thawed strawberries by hulling and slicing them, then muddle or blend them into a smooth puree. Strain the puree through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds and pulp for a clean, vibrant liquid.
