Bring 6 cups of water to a boil in a large pot over high heat.

Add the 5 tea bags and 1 1/2 tsp dried cardamom to the boiling water, then remove from heat and let steep for 5 minutes.

Strain the tea through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl, discarding the tea bags and cardamom solids.

Stir 3/4 cup sugar into the hot tea until completely dissolved.

Allow the sweetened tea to cool to room temperature, approximately 15-20 minutes, or refrigerate to speed up cooling.
