Chill a cocktail glass by filling it with ice water and setting it aside while you prepare the drink.

Measure out the brandy and white crème de cacao, using equal parts of each for a balanced flavor profile.

Fill a cocktail shaker or mixing glass with ice cubes to thoroughly chill the ingredients.

Pour the brandy, white crème de cacao, and a small measure of cold water into the ice-filled shaker.

Shake or stir the mixture vigorously for about 15 to 20 seconds until the exterior of the shaker feels well chilled.

Discard the ice water from the chilled glass, then strain the cocktail into the prepared glass using a fine mesh strainer to ensure a smooth, clear pour.
