Strawberry french toast

Slice the bread into 1/2-inch thick pieces and set aside.

Whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract in a shallow bowl until well combined.

Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat until foaming.

Dip each bread slice into the egg mixture, coating both sides evenly but not oversaturating, then place onto the hot skillet.

Cook the bread slices for 3-4 minutes on the first side until golden brown, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the second side until golden brown.

Transfer the cooked French toast to a serving plate.

Top the French toast with fresh strawberries and a drizzle of maple syrup or honey.
