Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cream together butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Pour sweet milk into the butter-sugar mixture and stir until well combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder.

Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined; do not overmix.

Stir in the chopped pecans until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.
