Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cream together the margarine and sugar in a large bowl, mixing until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg until well combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Fold the mashed bananas into the margarine mixture, stirring gently to combine.

Add the flour mixture to the banana mixture in two additions, alternating with the milk and stirring until just combined after each addition.

Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.

Bake for 45-50 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with just a few crumbs.
