The texture and transparency of ice vary depending on freezing method and water purity: slow freezing produces clear ice, while rapid freezing creates cloudy ice with trapped air bubbles. Ice cubes are the most common domestic form, standardized to various sizes (typically 1-2 inches) for convenient use in beverages and food preparation.
