Drain and rinse the garbonzo beans thoroughly under cold running water, removing excess liquid and any loose skins.

Mince the garlic cloves finely and squeeze fresh lemon juice from the lemon halves, reserving any seeds.

Combine the tahini and minced garlic in a food processor, blending until a paste forms.

Add the drained garbonzo beans to the processor in batches, pulsing until the mixture reaches a coarse consistency.

Pour in the fresh lemon juice while continuing to blend, scraping down the sides of the processor bowl as needed.

Season with salt and blend on high speed for 2-3 minutes until the hummus becomes smooth and creamy, adding water 1 tablespoon at a time if needed for desired consistency.

Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and create a shallow well in the center with the back of a spoon.

Finely chop the fresh parsley and sprinkle as a garnish over the top of the hummus before serving.
