Drain the tin of chickpeas, reserving about 2–3 tablespoons of the liquid for blending.

Peel and roughly chop the garlic cloves (2–5 cloves, depending on taste preference).

Add the drained chickpeas, chopped garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil to a food processor or blender.

Pulse and blend until smooth, adding reserved chickpea liquid 1 tablespoon at a time if needed to reach a creamy consistency.

Taste and adjust garlic, lemon juice, or salt as desired, then blend briefly to combine.

Transfer to a serving bowl and drizzle with additional olive oil if desired before serving.
