Drain the canned garbanzo beans in a colander and rinse under cold water until the water runs clear.

Combine the drained garbanzo beans, garlic clove, sesame seed paste, and lemon juice in a food processor.

Process until smooth, pausing occasionally to scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula.

Drizzle in the olive oil while the food processor runs, blending until the hummus reaches a creamy consistency.

Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and dust the surface evenly with a pinch of cayenne pepper.

Stir gently to incorporate the cayenne if a more even heat is desired, or leave as a garnish for visual appeal and controlled spice level.
