Scrub the potatoes under cold running water with a brush to remove any dirt, leaving the skins intact.

Pat the potatoes dry with a clean kitchen towel.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

Pierce each potato several times with a fork to prevent bursting during baking.

Arrange the potatoes on a baking sheet or directly on the oven rack, spacing them evenly apart.

Bake for 40–45 minutes until the skin is wrinkled and the flesh is tender when pierced with a knife.

Remove the potatoes from the oven and allow them to rest for 2–3 minutes.

Cut each potato in half lengthwise and place on a serving plate or individual plates.

Top each potato half with a small piece of butter and sprinkle with salt to taste, allowing the heat to melt the butter over the fluffy interior.
