Whisk together milk, eggs, plain flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl until a smooth batter forms, with no lumps remaining.

Heat oil in a deep fryer or large heavy-bottomed pot to 375°F (190°C), using a thermometer to verify the temperature.

Prepare a funnel by holding it over the hot oil and pouring batter through in a circular pattern, starting from the center and moving outward to create a web-like shape.

Fry the funnel cake for 1-2 minutes until the bottom is golden brown, then carefully flip using a slotted spatula or tongs.

Fry the second side for another 1-2 minutes until it is golden brown and crispy.

Transfer the finished funnel cake to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Repeat the pouring and frying process with the remaining batter.
