Ingredients

  • butter (no margarine substitute)
    ½ cup
  • ¼ cup

Method

1
Remove the butter from the refrigerator and allow it to sit at room temperature for 30 to 45 minutes until fully softened and pliable.
45 minutes
2
Place the softened butter into a medium mixing bowl and beat it with a hand mixer or wooden spoon until it is light, fluffy, and creamy.
3 minutes
3
Measure the honey and warm it very slightly if it is thick or crystallized, so it incorporates more easily into the butter.
1 minutes
4
Slowly drizzle the honey into the whipped butter while continuously mixing to ensure a smooth, fully emulsified blend.
2 minutes
5
Scrape down the sides of the bowl and continue to mix until no streaks of honey remain and the spread is uniform in color and texture.
2 minutes
6
Taste the honey butter and adjust the ratio of honey to butter according to your preferred level of sweetness.
7
Transfer the finished honey butter to a serving dish or ramekin for immediate use, or roll it into a log using plastic wrap for storage.
2 minutes
8
Refrigerate the honey butter for up to two weeks, and allow it to soften briefly at room temperature before serving for easy spreading.
