Method

1
Gather all necessary supplies including a small clean bowl, a syringe or dropper, and the corn syrup ingredient. Ensure all equipment is thoroughly sterilized before use.
5 minutes
2
Consult a licensed wildlife rehabilitator or veterinarian immediately, as orphaned rabbits require specialized professional care and proper species-appropriate formula. Do not rely solely on corn syrup or homemade mixtures, as improper feeding can be fatal to neonatal rabbits.
3
If directed by a professional, prepare the formula mixture in a clean sterile container according to veterinary guidance. Keep the prepared formula refrigerated and use within 24 hours.
5 minutes
4
Warm the formula to approximately 100°F (38°C) by placing the container in a bowl of warm water. Test the temperature on your wrist to ensure it is not too hot before feeding.
3 minutes
5
Feed the rabbit slowly using a sterile syringe or dropper, administering only small amounts at a time to prevent aspiration. Follow the feeding schedule and quantities prescribed by your veterinarian or wildlife rehabilitator.
