Pound or pulse the mixture until it forms a coarse paste, scraping down the sides as needed.

Add the ground ginger, freshly ground black pepper, salt, and grated nutmeg to the paste and mix thoroughly.

Stir in the grated lemon zest and chopped fresh cilantro until evenly distributed.

Drizzle in the vegetable broth and canola oil while stirring to achieve a smooth, spreadable paste consistency.
