The Best Gravy Ever

Ingredients

  • "Chicken" broth (I like the Imagine Foods one that comes in the carton)
    boiling
    2 cups
  • tbls vegetable oil
    2 unit
  • tbls nutritional yeast
    3 unit
  • vegetable boullon cube
    1 unit
  • diced fresk Mushrooms
    1 cup
  • onion salt to taste
    1 unit
  • 1 unit

Method

Heat vegetable oil in a large saucepan over medium heat until shimmering.

Add diced fresh mushrooms and sauté for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they begin to release their liquid and soften.

Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and stir constantly for 1-2 minutes to cook out the raw flour taste and create a roux.

Crumble the vegetable bouillon cube into the saucepan and stir to combine with the mushroom mixture.

Slowly pour the boiling chicken broth into the pan while whisking continuously to prevent lumps from forming.

Add the nutritional yeast and stir until fully incorporated, breaking up any clumps.

Simmer over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the gravy thickens to desired consistency.
