Granola Bars

Granola bars are a very tasty and easy food to make. They can be sold at the market in small bars, such as the size of a candy bar. However, by following these commonly used steps you can create your own tasty granola bars right at home.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with margarine or cooking spray.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the quick-cooking oatmeal, shredded coconut, flour, and a pinch of salt, stirring until evenly mixed.

In a separate saucepan over medium heat, melt the margarine together with the honey, corn syrup, and brown sugar, stirring continuously until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth.

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract, then let the mixture cool slightly for about 2 minutes.

Beat the eggs lightly and add them to the warm syrup mixture, stirring quickly to incorporate without scrambling the eggs.

Pour the wet mixture over the dry oat mixture and stir thoroughly to combine, then fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
