In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice with the appropriate amount of water or broth according to package instructions. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and stir in garlic powder and Italian seasoning to infuse the rice with flavor while it cooks. Cover the saucepan with a tight-fitting lid.

Allow the rice to simmer on low heat, covered, until all the liquid is fully absorbed and the rice is tender. Do not lift the lid during this process.
