Method
1
Prepare all vegetables by dicing the white onion into small pieces, cutting the carrots into thin matchsticks or small cubes, and chopping the broccoli into small florets.
2
If using meat, cook and cube it separately until fully cooked through, then set aside on a plate.
3
Heat olive oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat until shimmering.
4
Add the diced onion to the hot oil and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until it begins to soften and become translucent.

5
Add the carrot pieces and broccoli florets to the wok and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until they begin to soften.

6
Add the green beans, peas, and bean sprouts to the wok and stir-fry for 1–2 minutes.
2 minutes
7
Push all vegetables to the sides of the wok, creating a well in the center, then crack the egg into the well and scramble it until fully cooked, about 1–2 minutes.
2 minutes
8
Add the cooked rice to the wok, breaking up any clumps with a spatula or wooden spoon, and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until the rice is heated through.
3 minutes
9
If using meat, add the cooked cubed meat to the wok and toss to combine.
10
Pour the teriyaki sauce over the rice and vegetables, then toss everything together for 1–2 minutes until well coated.

11
Season to taste with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, stirring to distribute the seasonings evenly.

Divide the fried rice into serving bowls and serve immediately while hot.
