Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add the macaroni. Cook according to package directions until al dente, then drain and set aside.

In a small bowl, whisk together the milk and egg until well combined.

In a large saucepan or Dutch oven, melt the oleo over medium heat.

Add the grated cheddar cheese to the melted oleo and stir constantly until the cheese is completely melted and smooth.

Slowly pour the milk and egg mixture into the cheese mixture while stirring continuously to prevent lumps from forming.

Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir gently until all pasta is evenly coated with the sauce.

Transfer the mixture to a buttered baking dish and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes until the top is lightly golden and the edges are bubbly.
