Ingredients

  • Consider "fruit on a stick" skewers for picnics and barbecues. They're colorful
    easy to serve and delicious. Thread whole stemmed strawberries and a selection of fruit chunks onto bamboo skewers. Serve with the main dish, drizzled with a little vinaigrette, or serve for a dessert unadorned.

Method

Soak 4 bamboo skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent charring.

Rinse the strawberries and pat dry with paper towels, leaving the green stems intact.

Prepare the selection of fruit by rinsing, peeling (if needed), and cutting into bite-sized chunks or using whole fruits as appropriate to size.

Thread the fruit onto each skewer in alternating colors and types, starting with a strawberry and ending with a strawberry, spacing the pieces evenly along the stick.

Arrange the completed skewers on a serving platter.

Drizzle lightly with vinaigrette just before serving if desired, or serve unadorned as a dessert.
