Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning, then pat dry with paper towels.

Cut cantaloupe, honeydew, and watermelon into one-inch cubes, working over a bowl to catch any juices. You should have 24 cubes of each melon variety.

Thread melon cubes onto the soaked skewers, alternating between cantaloupe, honeydew, and watermelon until each skewer holds 9 cubes (3 of each variety).

Arrange assembled skewers on a broiler pan or baking sheet lined with foil, placing them in a single layer.

Sprinkle raw brown sugar evenly over all sides of the fruit kebabs, using approximately 1 tablespoon per skewer.

Preheat the broiler to high and position the rack 4-6 inches from the heat source.

Broil the fruit kebabs for 5 minutes until the sugar caramelizes and the fruit begins to soften.
