Ingredients

  • real chocolate chips
    750 g
  • 1 can
  • rum flavouring (or 4 tsp real rum -- and actually
    the "flavouring" is more intense)
    3 tsp
  • Coatings: chocolate sprinkles
    icing sugar, crushed walnuts or almonds, coconut, cinnamon
    1 unit

Method

In a large mixing bowl, combine crushed biscuits or cake crumbs with cocoa powder and mix until evenly blended.

Pour condensed milk and rum or rum flavoring into the dry mixture, then stir thoroughly until a firm, uniform dough forms.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture to firm it up, making it easier to shape.

Prepare your coating stations by placing desiccated coconut, chocolate sprinkles, or powdered cocoa into separate shallow bowls.

Remove the chilled mixture from the refrigerator and scoop out small, even portions, rolling each one between your palms to form smooth balls approximately 2 cm in diameter.

Roll each ball in your desired coating, pressing gently to ensure the coating adheres evenly to the entire surface.

Arrange the finished rum balls on a lined tray or in paper cases, then refrigerate to set completely before serving.
