Peanut Butter Candy
This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Ritchie Estate in Balch Springs, Texas in 1984.

Method

Crush graham crackers into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a sealed bag and breaking them with a rolling pin.

Combine the crushed graham crackers, peanut butter, powdered sugar, and softened butter in a large bowl, stirring until the mixture is evenly blended and holds together when pressed.

Press the mixture firmly into a 9x13 inch baking dish, creating an even layer about ½ inch thick.

Refrigerate the pressed mixture for 30 minutes until it becomes firm and easy to cut.

Remove from refrigerator and cut into 1-inch squares or bite-sized pieces using a sharp knife, wiping the blade between cuts for clean edges.

Store the finished candy in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
