Place root beer in a large, sturdy bowl or pitcher, ensuring the container can safely handle extremely cold temperatures.

Add scoops of ice cream to the root beer and stir gently until partially combined, creating a creamy mixture with visible ice cream pieces.

Using tongs or insulated gloves, carefully place a small piece of dry ice into the mixture and step back to avoid the fog.

Watch as the dry ice creates a dramatic smoking effect for approximately 2–3 minutes; do not stir or touch the mixture during this time.
