Green Tea Soda

Let the fizzy magic begin! A very, very tasty, alternative to soda. Enjoy! Prepare in advance, as it will steep in fridge for about an hour before serving.

Ingredients

  • green tea teabags
    2 unit
  • 2 cups
  • pint-sized pyrex measuring cup or heat-proof jar
    1 unit
  • raw
    organic honey (optional)
    1 tsp
  • total natural sparkling mineral water (½ glass per serving tea)
    2 cups

Method

Boil 2 cups of water in a kettle until it reaches a rolling boil.

Place 2 green tea teabags into a pint-sized heat-proof jar or pyrex measuring cup.

Pour the boiling water over the tea bags and steep for 3-5 minutes until the tea reaches desired strength, then remove the tea bags.

Allow the brewed tea to cool to room temperature, approximately 10-15 minutes, or place the jar in an ice bath for faster cooling.

Stir in 1 teaspoon of raw organic honey if desired, mixing until fully dissolved.

Pour the cooled green tea into serving glasses, filling each glass about halfway (roughly ½ cup per serving).

Top each glass with ½ cup of natural sparkling mineral water and stir gently to combine.

Serve immediately over ice if desired.
