Double-chocolate Soda

Select a tall, chilled glass and place it on a flat surface. Chill the glass in the freezer for 5 minutes beforehand for best results.

Pour a generous measure of chocolate syrup into the bottom of the glass, using approximately 3-4 tablespoons for a rich base layer.

Add a second layer of chocolate syrup on top of the first, drizzling it slowly to build the double-chocolate depth of flavor.

Fill the glass approximately three-quarters full with ice cubes, adding them gently to avoid splashing the syrup.

Slowly pour chilled club soda or sparkling water over the ice, leaving about an inch of space at the top of the glass.

Using a long-handled spoon, stir the mixture gently from the bottom up to incorporate the chocolate syrup evenly throughout the drink.

Taste the soda and adjust sweetness by adding additional chocolate syrup if desired, then give one final gentle stir.
