Prepare the masa dough by combining masa harina with water and a pinch of salt, kneading until smooth and pliable. Divide the dough into small, equal portions and shape each into thin, bite-sized rounds or squares.

Arrange the shaped masa pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and allow them to air-dry at room temperature to help develop a crispier texture. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) during this time.

Bake the masa pieces in the preheated oven until golden, light, and crispy, turning once halfway through. Remove from the oven and allow them to cool completely on a wire rack.

While the bites cool, pour the whipping cream into a chilled bowl and whip with a hand mixer or whisk until soft, fluffy peaks form. Refrigerate the whipped cream until ready to serve.

Warm the chocolate syrup gently in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally, until it is smooth and slightly fluid for easy drizzling. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
