Ingredients

  • three parts tequila
    1 unit
  • one part triple-sec
    1 unit
  • one part lime juice (fresh squeezed preferred)
    1 unit
  • salted rim (optional)
    1 unit
  • 1 unit

Method

Pour tequila, triple-sec, and fresh lime juice into a cocktail shaker filled with ice in the 3:1:1 ratio (three parts tequila, one part triple-sec, one part lime juice).

Shake the mixture vigorously for 10-15 seconds until well-chilled and combined.

Rim four margarita or rocks glasses with salt by moistening the rim with a lime wedge and pressing it into salt granules on a plate.

Strain the cocktail mixture evenly into the four prepared glasses over fresh ice.

Garnish each margarita with a fresh lime wheel or wedge and serve immediately.
