Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Combine biscuit mix and shredded cheddar cheese in a large bowl, stirring together until evenly distributed.

Pour milk into the dry ingredients and stir until a soft dough forms, being careful not to overmix.

Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart to allow for rising.

Bake for 12–15 minutes until the biscuits are golden brown on top.

While biscuits bake, whisk together melted margarine or butter and garlic powder in a small bowl.

Remove biscuits from oven and immediately brush the garlic butter mixture over the warm biscuits, coating them evenly.
