Crackling bread




  1. Dissolve yeast and sugar and warm water and set in warm place until foamy.
  2. Sift flour, salt and sugar.
  3. Ass oleo, the warm milk and yeast mixture.
  4. Mix and finally add the slightly beaten eggs and mix again.
  5. Make dough.
  6. Cover with a cloth and set aside to rise for 30 minutes.
  7. Take out of the bowl and knead on floured board for 10 minutes.
  8. Divide into three balls.
  9. Place each of them in a greased bowl.
  10. Cover with cloth and let rise in warm place until double in bulk.
  11. Take crackling or pork trimming and fry until golden brown.
  12. Drain off clear fat but leave enough fat to cover bottom of pan.
  13. Beat eggs slightly and add sour cream, sugar and of cinnamon.
  14. Proceed to roll out each ball of dough, one at a time, on a lightly floured cloth to 2 cm thickness.
  15. Spread egg mixture over entire rolled dough.
  16. Over this spread the fried cracklings and roll as a jelly roll.
  17. Place each roll into a well greased pan and set aside to rise for 45 minutes.
  18. Bake in oven for 70 minutes.
  19. Best served warm.
